According to the Value Gap Report, Sweden loses around SEK 600 billion (approximately €57 billion) in economic value each year, with the construction sector emerging as the SINGLE largest source of value loss. At the same time, this makes construction one of the sectors with the greatest potential for circular transformation.
During the event, speakers from across Europe and the Western Balkans will be brought together to explore how circular economy approaches can help close this value gap, combining data, public-sector leadership, innovation tools, and real-life practices.
What to expect:
- Insights from the Value Gap Report team, Ann-Charlotte Mellquist (Director Sustainability Analytics, RISE)
- How Friesland (Netherlands) became one of Europe’s pioneering regions in circular transition – Sander Bos, Project Lead & Strategic Advisor, Circular Economy & European Affairs, Province of Friesland
- RECONMATIC Project, ConsCAT: Self Assessment Tool to measure sustainability and circularity in the construction sector and Online courses on Circular Construction, Teresa Ros Dosdá, Environmental Senior Researcher – The Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC-AICE) & Egle Joneliunaite, Dissemination & Communication Manager, Future Needs
- Best circular practices from the construction sector coming from the Western Balkans featuring ETRI Solutions (Serbia) and M-Akustik (Macedonia)
The event is designed for companies, municipalities, practitioners, and policy actors interested in the economic, environmental, and social potential of circular construction.
