The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development, is organizing a training on industrial symbiosis, intended for companies from the manufacturing and service sectors.<\/p>\n
The training will take place on Thursday, 22 January 2026<\/strong>, from 09:00 to 13:00<\/strong>, at the UN Eco Building in Podgorica<\/strong> (Stanka Dragojevi\u0107a Boulevard, bb).<\/p>\n The training will combine theoretical foundations and hands-on practice<\/strong>, covering the core principles of the circular economy and industrial symbiosis, and explaining how industrial symbiosis differs from traditional recycling and waste management approaches. Participants will explore industrial symbiosis from a business perspective<\/strong>, including different models of cooperation, resource-use synergies, and international best practices relevant to Montenegro. Through practical tools and an interactive World Caf\u00e9<\/em> session, participants will work on mapping resource flows, identifying losses and by-products<\/strong>, and uncovering concrete opportunities for collaboration between companies, such as resource exchange, shared infrastructure, and knowledge sharing. The training will also address success factors and common barriers<\/strong> to industrial symbiosis, the role of facilitation and trust-building, and available support mechanisms and next steps, including pilot projects and future cooperation opportunities.<\/p>\n The event is part of a broader project supporting the development of the circular economy.
